Homework Club

Are you feeling rushed or overwhelmed?  Allow your child to complete homework with ease, while at the same time allowing you to have quality time with your child.  Let us do the job for you.  The Homework Club is run by LES teacher, Robin Sharp.  It meets one or two days a week for one hour after school for 10 weeks.  There are several sessions a year.

Flying Machines Science Program (Grades K-2)

This class is a dream come true for every young pilot or astronaut.  Each week we will design and build a different flying machine such as:  gliders, airplanes, rocket balloons, helicopters, hang gliders, flying saucers, parachutes and more.  Students will conduct test flights with their creations, make changes when necessary and participate in friendly competitions.  Throughout the class, students will learn about the principles of flight.

Chemistry Capers Science Program (Grades 3-5)

Did you every wonder why bubbles appear when you mix vinegar and baking soda, or what makes disappearing ink disappear?  Mixing chemicals and watching exciting reactions occur, growing brightly colored crystals, experimenting with yeast, and making slime are a few of the activities planned.  Students will also make their own litmus paper out of flowers and figure out which chemical dissolves Styrofoam.   In addition, students will learn safe techniques for conducting and analyzing experiments.

5th Grade Jazz Ensemble

Lisbon Elementary School's Instrumental teacher, Mr. Winters leads the 5th grade jazz ensemble after school once a week.

SuperSquads Cheerleading

Supersquads Cheerleading provides an exciting after-school enrichment program in cheerleading including dance and tumbling instruction.  Our primary goal is to develop a solid, healthy self-esteem within each student through our challenging yet fun curriculum learning:  cheers & chants, dances, gymnastics, pyramids and stunts, jumps, teamwork, showmanship, leadership, safety and highschool tryout tips.

Craft Pak

Create craft projects during the week and leave the mess at school.  Crafts have included birdhouses, beads, keepsake boxes, storage totes, ginger jar collage containers and seasonal crafts.  Fee includes all materials for each project.  This club meets for an hour afterschool one day a week for 8 weeks.

Scrapbooking

Create a keepsake scrapbook with photographs supplied by the student.  Fee includes scrapbook, photo box or paper keeper, adhesive squares, paper, stickers and page decorations.  This club meets for an hour after school one day a week for 8 weeks.

Languages

The PTA has sponsored classes in several foreign languages such as Spanish, Swedish and German, as well as, sign language.  The students learn basic numbers, greeting phrases, colors, songs, and vocabulary.  These classses generally run in 8-week sessions meeting one day a week after school for an hour.
